A an oil painting is created on canvas. The canvas is made out of linen or other cloth material. It does not have a board or a frame on the back in its natural form. It looks something like a thick blanket. 

An oil painting can be shipped in 3 ways.

1 - artistic canvas with the painting rolled up in a tube

Its just a loose canvas without the skeleton frame on the back. Its rolled up carefully and placed into a hard tube. such method is the safest and the most economical way to transport an artwork. We provide free shipping for this method all over the globe. The size of the package is small and it does not take much space . This decreases the chances of outside damage almost to 0. 2 - Artisanal Museum Warp on Fine Wood

3 -  Framed - the frame must be ordered sepratly from the painting, you can find and order avaialble frames here https://afremov.com/frames/ . Please select the correct size when you make the order

When a canvas is stretched ,its mounted onto a wooden skeleton frame just like in the image below. The staples are not visible and are present only on the on the rear side. The sides of the painting are painted so it can be hung as it is without a decorative frame. The painting does not need a hanging wire, the middle of the top stretcher bar can be hung onto a longer nail or screw, longer paintings can be hung with 2 screws or nails .  We use the best fine wood for the frames. The frames are hand made by specialist carpenters and a lot more  durable and resistent than stadard stretcher bars.  Our frames always withstand shipping to far destinations and chnages in the enviorment. This kind of frame will last for a very long time.
